Every protein contains a different amount of fat. While the fat content of these proteins is not "bad", adding high-fat proteins to your meal plan can affect your overall calorie intake. Because of this, we recommend limiting the number of high fat protein choices per day to two. This will help you meet your nutrient requirements!
High-fat protein choices may include nuts, some dairy foods, and some meats. For example, if you try to choose all your protein choices at lunch from pecans, a message will appear reminding you to "Choose only 2 servings of high-fat protein choices per day". You must choose alternative protein choices for your remaining protein servings before saving your meal. Feel free to mix and match regular and high-fat proteins throughout the day!
